HOMEWORK:
- Homework must be completed and brought back to class the next school day unless instructed otherwise. It is the responsibility of the student to write down assignments daily. They will be posted on the board and explained verbally. Homework is 40% of the entire grade; it is important that it is done by the student. Homework assignments are practice for tests and quizzes, as well as confirmation that the student understands the material. If your child is experiencing difficulty in a homework assignment have him or her see me during homeroom, in class, or recess.
- Late Assignment: A grade will be deducted everyday an assignment is not handed in. For example, if the assignment grade is an "A," but it was handed in one day late, it will turn into a "B." Assignments are accepted up to three days, this includes the original day the assignment is due. For example, if the assignment is due on Monday, it will be accepted for full credit on Monday, on Tuesday with a grade deduction, and on Wednesday with an additional grade deduction.
- Projects: There will be a few projects assigned through out the year. They will be counted as two test grades and an additional 10 points will be deducted for each day the projects are not handed in.
- Absence: The student is responsible for making up any missed test, quiz, or assignment. He or she will not be excused from the work.
- Math: Multiplication and division facts MUST be studied daily and will be tested weekly.
- Math quizzes will be given every one or two lessons, therefore daily lessons must be reviewed and assignments completed at home daily.
